This program was derived from the studies of BRian NEeld. He came up with the concept of generating snowfall within flight simulator that accumulates after a period of time. I redesigned a few of his techniques to make alittle more realistic look to snow falling and the accumulations.

Hope you like it!!

Sincerely, Michael Woolsey 2003

To install and Operate:

1. Make a backup of (effects.CFG) file in your Flight Simulator effects folder, if you forgot to make a backup one is provided for you in the Microsoft Games\Snow FX 2003 folder, in ZIP format. However this is only to be used to overwrite the effects.CFG that runs the Snow FX 2003, other than that do not use.

2. Copy and paste the following lines below into any aircraft.CFG file. The way this can be done is open the folder of the aircraft you are looking at edditing look for the aircraft.CFG file in that folder, right click on it choose OPEN. When it asks you to select a program from a list to open pick (Notepad) to open it and then paste the lines below into that file, click SAVE. !!!(Be sure to copy everything from [Smoke System] to Smoke.2=0, 40, 40, snow)!!!

[SmokeSystem]
Smoke.0= 0, -40, 0, snow
Smoke.1= 0, 40, -40, snow
Smoke.2= 0, 40, 40, snow

Operation:

When starting the flight simulator, select the plane you edited select airport to start at, Set weather to Overcast to be more realistic, you can even put the default snow in it as well if you choose. Click FLY.

When it loads up and your sitting on the runway, click the letter ( i ) on your keyboard to make it start to snow. Sit there acouple minutes watch the snow start to accumulate the ground all around you.

As soon as you take off and in the air hit the ( i ) key again to make it stop snowing if you want snow will begin to melt. If you want to leave it on you can but frame rates may lower while flying. Say your on a long trip from Chicago to Salt Lake City, use your snow program while at the airport in Chicago turn off during flight, and then as soon as you descend or on final into Salt Lake City turn it back on again.
